Richard Ayoade And Noel Fielding To Voice Characters In The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part

British actors – Richard Ayoade and Noel Fielding are voicing characters in the upcoming Warner Animation Group motion picture – The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. Richard Ayoade voices Onion in Cartoon Network Studios’ animated comedy series – Apple and Onion, he also known for playing IT technician – Moss in the hit comedy – The IT Crowd. In The Lego Movie 2, Richard will be voicing a Lego character named “Ice Cream Cone”. In the movie, Ice Cream Cone is an efficient but impatient royal assistant and party planner.

Noel Fielding is best known for co-creating the surreal comedy BBC series – The Mighty Boosh, a show that has inspired JG Quintel while developing one of Cartoon Network’s hit series from the past decade – Regular Show. In the movie, Noel will be voicing Balthazar – a teenaged Vampire who’s also a DJ.

The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part will be released in cinemas in the U.S. and the UK on Friday 8th February.

Two weeks today on Monday 27th August, Cartoon Network UK will be airing a brand new show from Cartoon Network Studios – Apple and Onion, the channel is also now airing a thirty second promo for the new show. Apple and Onion tells the story of two friends living together after moving to the big city. The show is set in a world inhabited with anthropomorphic food. Together, Apple and Onion explore their new surroundings in the big city and go on hilarious adventures, with Apple’s enthusiasm and Onion’s imagination, who knows what could possibly happen. After settling down in their new home, they make lots of new friends including Hotdog, Lemon Drop, Falafel and Pancake. Apple is voiced by show creator – George Gendi and Onion is voiced by actor and comedian – Richard Ayoade.

Apple and Onion premieres on Cartoon Network UK and Ireland on Monday 27th August, and airs on weekdays at 10am and 5.30pm.

Apple and Onion now have their very own section on the Cartoon Network UK website, which includes video introductions to both Apple and Onion (the video introductions promos are also now airing on the channel) and also a brand new game – Cat Rescue which is based around the episode – “The Perfect Team”, where Apple and Onion have to save a cat from a busy road.

In the teaser promo as seen in the video below, Apple and Onion realise they’re stuck in a box and they’re trying to get out, the box appears to be some kind of fresh fruit and veg box usually seen at a market stall or a supermarket:

Apple and Onion will premiere on Cartoon Network UK and Ireland on Monday 27th August, airing weekdays at 10am and 5.30pm, hopefully they’ll be taken out of the box by then. A couple of weeks ago on Saturday 21st July, Cartoon Network UK had a special screening and Q&A event for Apple and Onion with the show’s creator – George Gendi at BAFTA’s HQ in London, more information about the new show, the screening and the Q&A session can be found on the link below.
