The First Ever Adult Swim Festival Expands Its Lineup With 24 Additional Music And Comedy Acts

The first ever Adult Swim Festival will debut in Los Angeles on 6th to 7th October and Adult Swim has announced an additional 24 musical and comedy artists that will be performing at the festival. Hip-hop group – Run The Jewels already announced they will be at the festival. Adult Swim announced the festival back in March along with an animated Rick and Morty music video with music by Run the Jewels and animation by Studio Yotta. The Adult Swim Festival adds to Adult Swim’s already successful lineup of events including Adult Swim on the Green, the Rickmobile tour and the Mr. Pickles Thrashtacular heavy metal concert tour.

Adult Swim has been expanding into music more lately with its annual singles programme and with the use of its own record label – Williams Street Records. Adult Swim has always been known for its humour, so the next logical move was to host a festival combining music and comedy.

Music and Comedy acts will include: Big Freedia, BOSCO, Chad VanGaalen, Code Orange, Com Truise, Dan Deacon, Nick Rutherford, DAWN, On Cinema Live Featuring Dekkar & DKR, High On Fire, IDK, Julianna Barwick, Kitty, Shigeto, Sound Of Ceres, Thundercat, Unknown Hinson, Wavves, Zola Jesus, Ahmed Bharoocha, Hannibal Buress, Jo Firestone, Jena Friedman and Joe Pera.

In addition to the acts, festival attendees will have access to a marketplace which will include interactive gaming, exclusive merchandise and local food vendors.

Pre-sale for Weekend Passes, Preview Night and Single Day Passes for fans over the age of 18 are available for sale now. Tickets go on sale to the general public tomorrow (Friday 18th May) at 9am PST/12pm EST. Payment plans are also available, so fans can buy now and pay the rest later.

It’s the announcement every Rick and Morty fan has been waiting for, today (10/05/2018) Adult Swim has announced the show renewal of Rick and Morty for an additional seventy episodes in a long-term deal. Show creators – Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland are now back working on new episodes for the successful animated sci-fi comedy series. This means there will be even more space and cross-dimension adventures with Rick – a sociopathic and alcoholic scientist and his grandson, Morty – an easily distressed but loyal sidekick.

Rick and Morty was the number one comedy on U.S. television in 2017 for the millennial generation, the show has gone multi-platform too, with games, livestreaming, merchandise and fan events. To celebrate the show’s renewal, Adult Swim will be hitting the road once again in the RickMobile in a country-wide tour, the tour will kick off from Adult Swim’s hometown – Atlanta, Georgia and will visit 50 different locations across the United States, including San Diego Comic-Con. The Rick-shaped mobile shop will be offering new and exclusive custom-designed merchandise for fans.

Turner’s young adult entertainment brand and Cartoon Network’s sister brand – Adult Swim will also be hosting a series of panels, signings and other special events at San Diego Comic Con International 2017. All panels for Adult Swim shows will take place on Friday 21st July at the Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton Bayfront running from 12.15pm to 4pm. This year, there will be panels for four Adult Swim shows – The Jellies (a brand new animated series coming soon to Adult Swim), Rick and Morty (new episodes coming to Adult Swim from 30th July), Robot Chicken and Mike Tyson Mysteries.

Adult Swim’s main venue at this year’s Comic-Con is a fairground-like attraction called “Adult Swim On The Green”, featuring a Meatwad Dome 4D Experience, games and prizes, autograph signing sessions, streams and special new episode screenings at night, including a Toonami Pre-Flight live stream from the convention. Adult Swim On The Green will be located behind the San Diego Convention Center, and will be open throughout the duration of the convention.

There will also be a special Rick and Morty event outside the Petco Park baseball stadium presented by the show’s creators – Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon on Saturday 22nd July, also the RickMobile (a vehicle shaped like Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty) will be travelling around the city.
