Turner Asia-Pacific Announces New Cartoon Network Entertainment Park Coming Soon To Bali, Indonesia

Today (6th June), Turner Asia-Pacific has announced that they’ve announced a licensing partnership with Indonesian real-estate and hospitality investment company – The MAJ Group to build a 4.3 hectare entertainment park in Bali, Indonesia. The family-friendly entertainment park development will feature the island’s largest water park and an indoor entertainment centre – all complete with Cartoon Network branding and themed with many of its animated IPs. The announcement was made at IAAPA’s (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) Asia Attractions Expo 2018 in Hong Kong.

The park is set to launch in 2020, the development will include water rides and surf and wave pools. The construction project will be a integral section of The MAJ Nusa Dua complex, a premiere destination for tourists featuring world-class hotels and an award-winning golf course. The Cartoon Network Entertainment Park will be Indonesia’s first ever park associated with an international brand, it will also be Cartoon Network’s first ever combined indoor and outdoor attraction. In addition to the water park and the entertainment centre, there will also be live performances featuring well known characters from many of Cartoon Network’s shows including – Ben 10, We Bare Bears, The Powerpuff Girls and Adventure Time.

Other Cartoon Network-branded projects licensed by Turner include the Cartoon Network Amazone water park in Thailand, IMG Worlds of Adventures and IMG Worlds of Legends in Dubai, Amaazia in India and the Cartoon Network Wave cruise liner.

Slated to be fully operational in 2020, the development will include thrilling water rides, and massive surf and wave pools. The integrated project will be a key part of The MAJ Nusa Dua complex, a premier tourist destination in southern Bali featuring world-class hotels and an award-winning golf course.

This will be Indonesia’s first ever park to partner with an international brand, and it will be Cartoon Network’s first with both indoor and outdoor attractions. The announcement was made today (June 6) at IAAPA’s Asian Attractions Expo 2018 in Hong Kong. Today (28/03/2018), Turner Asia-Pacific has announced that Vikram Sharma has been appointed as the new Vice President of Cartoon Network Enterprises for the region. Cartoon Network Enterprises is Cartoon Network’s product merchandising and service licensing division. As the division’s new vice president, Vikram will be responsible for driving sales across the region for Cartoon Network branded toys, clothing, home entertainment, publishing, lifestyle products as well as live events and themed entertainment. Cartoon Network’s popular IPs include Ben 10, We Bare Bears, Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball and The Powerpuff Girls. Cartoon Network Enterprises Asia-Pacific is also responsible for licensing for Adult Swim shows, including Rick and Morty, the emoticon rabbit Tzuki and it also acts as an representative of Warner Bros. Turner Asia Pacific has appointed Vikram Sharma Vice President of Cartoon Network Enterprises (CNE), its regional licensing and merchandising division.

Joining Turner in March, Mr Sharma is tasked with driving sales across the whole region for its branded toys, apparel, home entertainment, publishing and lifestyle products, as well as live events and themed entertainment. Major franchises and IP under CNE’s management from the Cartoon Network portfolio of shows including Ben 10, We Bare Bears, Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball and The Powerpuff Girls, as well as Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty.

His remit also includes the management of Tuzki, the digital IP and emoticon of choice in China and beyond. In South Asia, Turner acts as a representative for Warner Bros. Consumer Products.

Today (22/03/2018), it was announced that Six Flags, the world’s largest theme park company, tourism and real estate developer – Riverside Investment Group and Turner Asia-Pacific have formed a new partnership which will bring rides and attractions based on Turner’s properties to Six Flags theme parks in China.

The first branded ride from the new partnership will be a dark-ride based on Turner’s cartoon rabbit instant messaging emoticon property – Tuzki, the new ride will be at two Six Flags theme parks in China, Six Flags Zhejiang and Six Flags Chongqing, which will open in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
