Cartoon Network India Celebrates Diwali 2017

Cartoon Network India is celebrating the Hindu festival of Diwali with all new Oggy and the Cockroaches and Roll No. 21 episodes and movies in a new programming stunt called “Kris aur Oggy ki Asli Diwali”.

“Kris aur Oggy ki Asli Diwali” will air every day from 16th October to 22nd October from 9am. During the special programming event, there will be a chance for viewers to participate in a competition to win a holiday for four people to the Cartoon Network Amazone Water Park in Pattaya, Thailand. On Cartoon Network India this month, the movie “Kris Trish Baltiboy 8: Face Your Fears” will premiere, the movie – Barbie: Dreamtopia will also premiere on Saturday 28th October at 11am. New episodes of The Powerpuff Girls are airing on weekends at 9am and new episodes of Oggy and the Cockroaches is currently airing Mondays to Fridays at 6pm.

Over on Cartoon Network’s sister channel – Pogo, new episodes of Tik Tak Tail will air from 16th October onwards, airing daily at 7.30pm, there will be a Tik Tak Tail competition to win an unique Tik Tak Tail themed car. Pogo will air the Mighty Raju movie – Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman on Sunday 29th October at 10.30am. New episodes of Mighty Raju will also air Monday to Friday at 5pm from 16th October. Episodes of Dorothy & The Wizard of Oz are airing every weekend in October on Pogo at 7am, along with Wacky Races airing on Sundays at 7.30pm. Also on Pogo, Chhota Bheem movies will air Mondays to Wednesdays from 16th to 25th October at 6pm and episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic are airing Mondays to Fridays at 7.30am.

Cartoon Network India And Amazon Prime Video Announces VOD Content Distribution Deal

Turner International India and Amazon Prime Video in India have signed a content distribution deal to add a selection of classic Cartoon Network shows onto the subscription video-on-demand service. Cartoon Network shows that will be added to the service include, Ben 10 (Original series), Ben 10: Alien Force, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Ben 10 Omniverse, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Johnny Bravo, The Powerpuff Girls (Original series), Dexter’s Laboratory, and two shows specifically produced for Indian audiences – Kumbh Karan and Roll No. 21. The shows will be added to the Kids and Family TV section of Amazon Prime Video’s service.

In a joint statement by Amazon India and Cartoon Network India, both said:

“Kids today are consuming and engaging with their favourite content across diverse screens such as computers and mobile screens. This is increasing with the emergence of new OTT platforms and the rise in use of apps for games as an entertainment and learning activity.”

In addition to the classic cartoon distribution deal with Amazon Prime Video and the recent revamp of Toonami India as a classic animation channel, Cartoon Network Enterprises in India has released a retro collection which includes a series of branded merchandise such as T-shirts, shoes, mugs, bags, badges, posters, flip-flops, mobile covers and much more. The new merchandise range features character designs from The Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo and Dexter’s Laboratory.

In regards to new merchandise range, Anand Singh, the Senior Director of Cartoon Network Enterprises India made this statement:

Cartoon Network India Partnered With Viviana Mall For Fitness Awareness Event

Cartoon Network India and Viviana Mall – a shopping centre located within Mumbai’s metropolitan area has partnered up for a fitness awareness campaign and event. Cartoon Network held the “Cartoon Network Live” event at the mall on Saturday 6th May. Last weekend at the mall, Cartoon Network characters Kris (from Roll No.21), Ben Tennyson (from Ben 10) and Johnny Bravo along with famous fitness coach Mickey Mehta were performing exercises with kids from the Sparsh Foundation. On every weekend in May (until Sunday 28th May), kids visiting the mall will be able to meet and greet cartoon characters from Cartoon Network’s most popular shows such as We Bare Bears, The Powerpuff Girls and Oggy and the Cockroaches.

Ms. Rima Pradhan, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Viviana Mall made this statement about the partnership with Cartoon Network:

“Kids accept things which are explained using the fun and entertainment quotient. Hence, we invited Mickey Mehta and Cartoon Network characters in order to spread the awareness. We are proud to be a community centre in which activity meant for kids is enjoyed even by senior citizens, parents and youngsters. Cartoon characters generally act as role models for kids.
