Boomerang Now Available On Now TV In Hong Kong
Turner Broadcasting System Asia-Pacific and Hong Kong-based PCCW have made a channel distribution deal for Boomerang which will launch on PCCW’s Now TV pay-tv platform on Friday 1st July as part of Now TV’s Junior pack channel package. The new deal has increased Boomerang’s Southeast Asia feed to over thirty million homes, the channel relaunched on 1st January 2015, replacing Cartoonito Asia. Boomerang features family-friendly animated shows from all over the world and animated classics from Warner Bros. Animation’s and Hanna-Barbera’s animation library, plus the addition of newer shows including Bunnicula, Shaun the Sheep and The Garfield Show. Now TV customers already have access to both Cartoon Network and Toonami.
Phil Nelson, Turner’s Managing Director for Southeast Asia, made this statement about the new distribution deal with PCCW (Now TV):
“Hong Kong audiences already know and love Boomerang’s shows, so the channel will undoubtedly appeal to families with young kids. We’ve seen this brand grow quickly around the region and gain momentum – hitting the 30 million distribution mark is great milestone. Now TV subscribers now have access to all three of Turner’s kids’ channels in the region – Cartoon Network, Toonami and Boomerang – so there really is something for everyone.”
Loke Kheng Tham, PCCW’s executive VP of pay TV also made this statement regarding the addition of Boomerang to their Now TV pay-tv platform:
