Sky Kids App New Games Section Featuring More Cartoon Network And Boomerang Games Coming Soon

British satellite pay television provider – Sky has added a brand new games section to its Sky Kids mobile app. The new section will feature games from Cartoon Network and Boomerang (as well as games from Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, Nick Jr and Baby TV). At launch, the Sky Kids app games section has one game from Cartoon Network called Ben 10 Diamondhead Shoot, more games are coming soon including games based on The Amazing World of Gumball, Scooby-Doo! and Adventure Time.

The Sky Kids app is free to Sky customers that are already subscribed to the Variety or Box Set bundles, the app offers an ad-free family-friendly environment and access to over 4,500 episodes from Sky’s most popular children’s channels including Cartoon Network, Disney Junior, Boomerang, Nickelodeon and many more. Games can be downloaded for offline use and Sky Go Extra or Sky Q Multiscreen subscribers can also download episodes of their favourite shows.

From The Sky UK Press Release: Let the games begin! Sky Kids app gets brand-new games section

A whole host of exciting games have landed on the Sky Kids app, bringing kids even more entertainment from their favourite characters, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Peppa Pig and Ben 10.

Already packed with shows from Boomerang, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, Nick Jr and Baby TV, little ones can now play chess with the help of SpongeBob, test their memory with Peppa and have a go at target practice with Henry Danger.

What’s more, new games are on the way from favourites like The Amazing World of Gumball, Scooby-Doo!, Adventure Time and our very own Sky Kids Art Studio full of creative tools, arty ideas and lots of virtual glitter. Adding to the fun will also be a range of games featuring the Sky Buddies, characters which live on the app and allow parents to create personalised, age tailored profiles for their kids.

Free to Sky customers*, the Sky Kids app is full to the brim with fun. There are over 4,500 episodes to watch on the app, which has been designed with kids in mind, making it both entertaining and safe for them to use. Shows include Sky Original Production Big Cats: Wild Files and Aliens Love Underpants And…, as well as YouTube hits like Little Baby Bum and popular kids’ favourites such as Boomerang’s Scooby-Doo.

The app offers a fun and safe way for children to play games and watch shows in a family friendly environment, with no adverts. Each child can have an age profile set, so they can only access the content that’s right for them and Sleep Mode lets adults choose when the app will automatically switch off. These settings build on the peace of mind that Sky customers already get from a range of enhanced security features such as Sky Broadband Shield, which lets customers filter which websites are seen in their home and protects against malware and phishing, and parental controls on their TV to pin protect access to certain content.

Customers with the Sky Kids app can download games to play offline and, if they have Sky Go Extra/Multiscreen, they can download shows too. So kids are entertained even when there’s no Wi-Fi, and traffic jams can be a whole lot more enjoyable.

Some of the new games include:

– SpongeBob Chess from Nicktoons
– Peppa Pig Memory Game from Nick Jr
– Bubble Guppies Popathon from Nick Jr
– Tulli Missing Shapes from Baby TV
– Henry Danger Target Practice from Nickelodeon
– Ben 10 Diamondhead Shoot from Cartoon Network
– The Loud House Food Fight from Nickelodeon

Lucy Murphy, head of kids content, Sky, said: “Children and parents have been loving the Sky Kids app, with over half a million registering to use it since it launched last year. It’s a great way to keep kids entertained, and now with new games to play and more being added every month, they have another fun way to dive into the worlds of their favourite characters. And as mums and dads know that it’s a safe and secure environment, everyone’s happy.”

With a record-breaking 52m downloads of kids’ content during the month of August, Sky is home to some of the most-watched kids’ shows in the UK and Ireland

Adult Swim UK’s New Website

Adult Swim UK has relaunched their website, at the moment it’s somewhat limited but it has a very good purpose as it lists the schedules for the Adult Swim on FOX and TruTV. The website has links to Adult Swim UK’s social media pages and a featured video. For a limited time only, Adult Swim takes over TruTV on Friday nights from 11pm, at present Adult Swim on TruTV is airing episodes from season two of Rick and Morty, season seven episodes of Robot Chicken, season two episodes of The Eric Andre Show, season two episodes of Mr. Pickles and season eight episodes of Squidbillies. TruTV is avaliable on Freeview channel 68, Sky channel 198, Freesat channel 154 and Virgin Media channel 212.

The Adult Swim block is currently airing a new show – Dream Corp LLC, season three episodes of Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell, season two episodes of Mr. Pickles and season four episodes of The Eric Andre Show. FOX is the permanent home for Adult Swim in the UK, FOX is a pay-tv channel but FOX airs new episodes either a few weeks or a couple of months after their premiere in the United States, FOX is also available in high definition. Adult Swim on FOX airs on Thursdays from midnight (technically Friday morning) on Sky channel 124, Virgin Media channel 157 and TalkTalk TV channel 422.

Adult Swim on TruTV has its very own presentation and is treated separately from the rest of the channel, the block has unique next/now bumpers, video clip bumpers and promos.

Continuity of Adult Swim on TruTV (Recorded 18th November 2016):

The content on Adult Swim is not appropriate for children and airs way past the 9pm watershed on FOX and TruTV (both general entertainment channels). Unlike the United States, the UK doesn’t have an age rating system and channels aimed for children can’t air adult content; for these reasons Adult Swim UK does not air on Cartoon Network.
