Adult Swim UK Samurai Jack Season 5 Premieres 16th March

Today (23/02/2017) Adult Swim UK announced on Facebook and Twitter that Samurai Jack Season 5 will premiere on Adult Swim on FOX UK on Thursday 16th March at midnight (technically 12am Friday 17th March). Unlike previous seasons, the new season will be airing on FOX UK’s Adult Swim programming block instead of Cartoon Network as the new season will have a much more violent and darker tone. The decision to air the show on Adult Swim instead of Cartoon Network may of also been the fact that kids who watched the show’s earlier seasons are now in Adult Swim’s target audience. In Samurai Jack season 5, Aku has destroyed every time portal. Jack suffered through hell for fifty years; roaming the land and hoping to go back home. Now, Jack must to fight for his right to go back to his own time. Season 5 will be action-packed conclusion every Samurai Jack fan has been waiting for and the final season will consist of 10 episodes. The show was created by Genndy Tartakovsky (also known for creating Cartoon Network’s Dexter’s Laboratory and for directing Sony Pictures Animation’s Hotel Transylvania).

Ahead of the premiere in the U.S. and UK next month, Adult Swim USA has uploaded a sneak peek clip from the new season onto their YouTube channel. In the sneak peek, Jack (in full armour) rides a spiked motorcycle into a battle against beetle-like robots.

Cartoon Network USA will be airing new episodes of Steven Universe from Friday 10th February, the new episodes will air weekly every Friday at 7pm ET/PT. Recently, new episodes were usually aired in episode bombs, which means new episodes airing every weekday, either during a week or for even up to a month, but this led to large scheduling gaps.
