Corus Entertainment Announces Adult Swim Canada Launch Sponsors

Today (27th March), Corus Entertainment has announced the launch sponsors for the brand new Adult Swim channel which will launch in Canada on Monday 1st April. At launch, fast-food restaurant chain – Burger King and online poker website – Pokerstars.net will be sponsoring the channel through the use of on-air sponsorship promos and bumpers (in the style of Adult Swim’s text bumpers which the brand is known for) and both brands will sponsor select Adult Swim programmes through billboards. Burger King’s Adult Swim campaign will be lead by Horizon Media and Pokerstars.net’s Adult Swim campaign will be led by Cossette Media.

The brand new Adult Swim Canada channel will feature a fully-packed lineup of animated and live-action shows for young adults including Joe Pera Talks With You, Harvey Birdman, The Eric Andre Show, Robot Chicken, Rick and Morty, Mr. Pickles, Check It Out with Dr. Steve Brule, and Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell.

Adult Swim is WarnerMedia’s young adult entertainment brand, which encompasses comedy (both animated and live-action), gaming, music and live-events. Adult Swim Canada will mirror Adult Swim USA’s original programming, with new episodes and new shows airing in both the U.S. and Canada on the same day.

The brand new Adult Swim channel will be available for a two-month free preview from Monday 1st April to Friday 31st May. Viewers will also be able to watch full episodes On Demand for free until January 2020.

Adult Swim UK is coming to general entertainment channel E4 (sister channel of main national network – Channel 4) on Friday 15th February at 10pm. Every Friday at 10pm, E4 will dedicate one hour to programming from the most popular basic cable network for young adults* in the United States, showcasing a variety of high quality comedy animation and live-action. On 15th February, E4 will air the first two episodes of the hit animated sci-fi comedy – Rick and Morty as well as the Robot Chicken: Walking Dead special. In addition to the Adult Swim block on E4, Channel 4 will be airing new episodes of Rick and Morty from season four sometime in the near future.

Today (21st June), NENT (Nordic Entertainment) Group and Turner has announced that the Turner’s young-adult entertainment brand – Adult Swim will be launching on Viafree this summer. The content will consist of animation and action-comedy series for young adults and will be available on the free online streaming service from Wednesday 1st August. The new Adult Swim branded section will be available on the Viafree platform in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, with hundreds of episodes already at launch and new episodes added every month and will be subtitles in local languages. Programming includes Adult’s Swim’s most popular and infamous animated series, such as the multiple Emmy-award winning Robot Chicken and newer shows including Hot Streets and The Jellies, along with the manic and bizarre chat show – The Eric Andre Show and also the very dark but cute Mr. Pickles. The critically-acclaimed Samurai Jack will also be added to the new Adult Swim section on Viafree.

Turner hopes to expand and further establish its young adult entertainment brand in markets outside the United States. Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) and Turner announced today that the Turner-owned Adult Swim brand will be launching on Viafree this summer. The content, consisting of animated and live-action comedy series for young adults, will be available on Viafree from August 1.

The Adult Swim branded section will be available on Viafree in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland with hundreds of episodes already at launch, and new content added every month. The content will be subtitled into local languages.
