A brand new show is coming soon to Boomerang UK and it features some very familiar characters in a very familiar place. The brand new show is Dorothy and the Wizard Of Oz and as the show’s title suggests it’s based on the classic 1939 movie – The Wizard Of Oz which itself is based on the book – The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. The new animated series from Warner Bros. Animation is a continuation of the story after the Wicked Witch of the West was defeated. The new series follows Dorothy and her new friends Tinman, Scarecrow and the (now not so) Cowardly Lion.

In the brand new show, Queen Ozma has appointed Dorothy as the Princess of Emerald City. Dorothy takes on her new role with enthusiasm and bravery but she’s still in touch with her Kansas farm-girl roots. However, the role of princess has a lot of responsibilities, not only she has munchkins, magic and flying monkeys to contend with, but she also has a new enemy, Wilhelmina – the new Wicked Witch in training and the niece of the Wicked Witch of the West.

Lion’s newly found courage gives him the inner strength he needs, the Tin Man is still adapting to his new found emotions and Scarecrow is now full of brains and also not forgetting Dorothy’s dog – Toto who’s still by her side. With her friends and a pair of magical ruby slippers, Dorothy follows the Yellow Brick Road on a magical journey filled with adventure.
