Cartoon Network USA Cartoon Network This Week Episode 6 With OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes Creator Ian Jones-Quartey

For this week’s episode of Cartoon Network USA’s news show on YouTube – Cartoon Network This Week, Sam chats with OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes show creator – Ian Jones-Quartey. Both Ian and Sam talk about the the brand new OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes mobile Game – Dynamite’s Action News and how the game was initially developed at Cartoon Network’s Game Jam event in Portland, Oregon in 2016. A Game Jam is a get-together of groups of game developers who aim to make a game prototype within a short period length of time, in this case 48 hours, each team were given a different OK K.O! character POW Card, it was the team’s objective to make a game based around the character. Wake Robin Games won the competition and developed Dynamite Action News based around Dynamite Watkins, a news reporter in the show.

In addition to this week’s episode, Cartoon Network USA has uploaded a behind-the-scenes video about the OK K.O.! Game Jam:

In April, Cartoon Network USA will be airing a new half-hour special of OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes called “You’re In Control”, in the special, K.O. attempts to control his dark-side alter ego – T.K.O. (Turbo K.O.), meanwhile the plaza’s arch-nemesis – Lord Boxman has something big planned. This week’s episode also featured an exclusive animatic from the special. On the CN Sayin’ app, kids recorded their best Rad impressions, Ian Jones-Quartey also voices Rad in the show. Rupert The Seal celebrated St. Patrick’s Day by kissing the Blarney Stone and shares viewers his montage of Cartoon Network’s green-coloured characters and leprechauns.

Cartoon Network just unveiled its latest upfront news adding its popular short Infinity Train created by Owen Dennis to its newest lineup of greenlit series. In this week’s edition of Cartoon Network USA’s weekly news YouTube show – Cartoon Network This Week, Sam checks out the brand new OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes mobile game – “Dynamite’s Action News”, which will be released on Monday 12th March for iOS, Android and Amazon Fire devices. In the new free game, players take on the role of Dynamite Watkins, an explosive reporter who investigates mysteries and fights crime in a 1980’s cyberpunk environment. The brand new game is developed by Wake Robin Games, the small three person studio won the contract to develop the game after winning Cartoon Network’s first ever Game Jam, a game development event in Portland, Oregon in 2016. Also the game was showcased at the PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) East convention in March 2017.
