Lego Movie World Opens At Legoland Florida, Includes Unikitty Themed Ride

Today (27th March), Legoland Florida has opened its brand new Lego Movie World theme park area. Lego Movie World is based on the massively successful 2014 movie – The Lego Movie and its sequel which was released earlier this year – The Lego Movie 2, both movies were made by Warner Bros’ Warner Animation Group, visual effects studio – Animal Logic and Lego Group. Lego Movie World includes a ride called Unikitty’s Disco Drop, which is based on the popular character in the movie – Unikitty, which also has her very own animated spin-off show on Cartoon Network – Unikitty!. Unikitty’s Disco Drop is a tower ride with a screen of Unikitty’s face at the top, when riders move up and down, her facial expression changes.

Lego Movie World also features a water ride called Battle of Bricksburg, where riders battle against Duplo aliens that have invaded the city, which forms part of the plot-line of The Lego Movie 2. The water ride is a re-theming of the existing The World of Chima: The Quest for Chi Splash Battle ride. The new park area also has brand new flying theatre ride called – The Lego Movie Masters of Flight, where park visitors get to ride on Emmet’s Triple Decker Sofa and fly through scenes inspired by both movies.

Today, Legoland Florida hosted a grand opening ceremony for Lego Movie World, which included a performance of “Catchy Song” from The Lego Movie 2 by That Girl Lay Lay.
