Toya Delazy Returns To Voice Bliss In The Powerpuff Girls Special Never Been Blissed For Cartoon Network Africa
South African music artist – Toya Delazy has returned to the recording studio to voice Bliss in the African English version of The Powerpuff Girls special – Never Been Blissed. Once again, Toya has voiced the fourth Powerpuff Girl (technically the first, as Bliss was created before the main Powerpuff Girls trio was created) and the long-lost older sister of Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup.
In the special – Never Been Blissed, Bliss is back from outer space to protect the girls’ school from the Sporde, a space alien who can shapeshift. Bliss also falls in love and gets asked to the school dance by Logan. With a parasitic alien on the loose, the Powerpuff Girls have to find a way to stop it before the big dance. The special episode will air on Cartoon Network Africa on Saturday 16th June at 1.30pm CAT.
In the United States, Olivia Olsen (voice of Marceline in Adventure Time) returned to voice Bliss for the Never Been Blissed special, in Australia and New Zealand – YouTuber Wengie (Wendy Ayche) also returned to voice Bliss.
In South Africa, The Power of Four special, the four-part special that introduced Bliss to viewers for the first time, reached 210,000 viewers between the ages of four and 14-years-old.
According to Toya, there will be some more future projects in the pipeline which she can’t announce yet, the only piece of information that she has disclosed is that it focuses on young girls living in Africa, she said:
“I am so happy to be trusted with this awesome mission yet again and build on the relationship I have with Cartoon Network, the leading kids’ channel in South Africa. We have some super cool projects in the pipeline, which I can’t talk about yet, aimed at shining the spotlight on young girls across the African continent. After the Never Been Blissed special, Cartoon Network Africa will air new episodes of The Powerpuff Girls from Saturday 30th June, airing Saturdays at 3.40pm. There will also be a Father’s Day Powerpuff Girls programming stunt on Sunday 17th June from 7.05am.
According to an advanced schedule on DigiGuide, the Never Been Blissed special will air on Cartoon Network UK on Friday 22nd June at 8pm as part of the New Fridays programming block, however as this is an advanced schedule, it can be subject to change.
Alesha Dixon Voices Fourth Powerpuff Girl In UK Version Of The Powerpuff Girls Power Of Four Special
Today (27/10/2017) at the opening day of MCM Comic Con in London, Cartoon Network UK has announced the guest voice actress that will be voicing the fourth Powerpuff Girl – Bliss in the five-part Power Of Four special this Sunday (29th October) at 3.30pm only on Cartoon Network in the UK. Britain’s Got Talent judge – Alesha Dixon will be voicing the character in the UK and Ireland version of the special. A total of fifteen voice actresses in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Europe) region and Australia have voiced the new character.
In The Powerpuff Girls: Power of Four special, the long-lost older sister of The Powerpuff Girls – Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup returns to Townsville to learn the true strength of her powers and to be reunited as a family again. She was created by Professor Utonium years before The Powerpuff Girls came into existence in an on-going experiment to create the perfect little girl, but Bliss was far too powerful for own good and went away. Bliss soon finds out that she has three younger sisters that shares the same personality traits as her and she’s also made of sugar, spice and everything nice, but there’s only one slight difference that separates her from her sisters. Finally united as a team, Blossom, Bubbles, Buttercup and Bliss will work together and save the day before bedtime.
Alesha Dixon was also the special guest at the opening of the Powerpuff Girls pop-up emporium in London in June this year, before her role as judge on Britain’s Got Talent, she was also a singer in the R&B/garage music girl group – Mis-Teeq and was a judge on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Alesha Dixon also appeared on ITV’s Good Morning Britain programme this morning (27/10/2017) to announce her voice acting role as the voice of the fourth Powerpuff Girl:

Fifteen Celebrities To Voice Fourth Powerpuff Girl In Europe, Middle East, Africa And Australia
Last night (17/09/2017), Cartoon Network USA aired the five-part Powerpuff Girls movie special – Power Of Four, the special introduced the fourth Powerpuff Girl – Bliss (Full name: Blisstina Francesca Francia Mariam Alicia Utonium), who actually was created by Professor Utonium years before the super-powered trio we know and love. Bliss was emotionally unstable, with the fear and shame of using her powers for destructive purposes, she moved to a deserted island far away and now she’s ready to return.
As correctly analysed and stated by this blog based on the evidence available at the time, South African musician – Toya Delazy will only be voicing Bliss in the African version of the special. The Power of Four special will air on Cartoon Network Africa on Saturday 21st October at 7.05am CAT. In the USA version, Olivia Olson (better known as the voice for Marceline in Adventure Time) voiced Bliss.
The role of the fourth Powerpuff Girl will be portrayed by fifteen different celebrities in Europe, Middle East and Africa and also Australia and New Zealand. Cartoon Network Australia (which also includes New Zealand) has already announced that the character will be played by the Australian YouTuber – Wengie (real name Wendy Ayche). In Australia and New Zealand, the special will also premiere on Cartoon Network Australia between Saturday 23rd – Sunday 24th September at 10am. The special will also air on Cartoon Network India and Cartoon Network Pakistan this Saturday (23/09/2017).
UPDATE: The special will also air on Cartoon Network Southeast Asia this weekend, three episodes will premiere on Saturday at 11.30am and two more on Sunday also at 11.30am.
In a statement regarding the several different voice actresses for the fourth Powerpuff Girl, Cartoon Network said:
“Cartoon Network has joined forces with 15 super-powered celebrities across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Australia who will each lend their voice to the newly revealed 4th Powerpuff Girl. The first local celebrities to be named as the voice of this mysterious fourth Powerpuff Girl are South Africa’s hip-hop sensation Toya Delazy, who will star as the character across Africa, and Australian YouTuber Wengie, who has voiced the character for Australia and New Zealand.”
