From The BOOM! Studios Press Release: BOOM! Studios Announces ADVENTURE TIME: MARCY & SIMON by Olivia Olson and Slimm Fabert: Discover The Future of Your Favorite Vampire Queen & Former Ice King in January 2019

BOOM! Studios and Cartoon Network today announced ADVENTURE TIME™: MARCY & SIMON #1 (of 6), kicking off an all-new limited series epic in January 2019. Writer Olivia Olson (Marceline on Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time™) and artist Slimm Fabert (Adventure Time™ comic series) unveil the exciting official comic book continuation of the Emmy® Award-winning Cartoon Network animated series by revealing what’s next for the titular Vampire Queen and the former Ice King

After the events of the Adventure Time™ series finale, Marceline and Simon have finally reunited! Now together, Simon asks Marceline for help in making amends for his time as Ice King, which leads them, Finn, and Jake on an adventure with so many twists and turns, even our skilled heroes have a hard time keeping up!

A modern day fable, the Emmy® Award–winning animated series Adventure Time™ has become a global success since its premiere in 2010, attracting adult and kid viewers in their millions over the course of 10 seasons. It follows unlikely heroes Finn and Jake, buddies who traverse the mystical Land of Ooo and encounter its colorful inhabitants. The best of friends, our heroes always find themselves in the middle of heart-pounding escapades. Finn, a silly kid with an awesome hat and Jake, a brassy dog with a big kind heart, depend on each other through thick and thin. Adventure Time is created by Pendleton Ward and produced at Cartoon Network Studios.

BOOM! Studios has been publishing the New York Times bestselling Adventure Time™ comic books and graphic novels through their KaBOOM! imprint for middle grade readers since 2012 and been honored with Eisner, Harvey, and Diamond Gem Awards for the series.

“Craziness and wonder aside, the best thing about Adventure Time™ is the show’s ability to make you feel,” said writer Olivia Olson. “Great storytelling can punch you in the gut with laughter, tears or ‘Woah, me too.’ Playing Marceline for the past 8 years has taught me a lot about myself. Besides the whole, demon/vampire post-apocalyptic childhood, she and I have all too much in common. Some of that will definitely come out in this series. I want to thank Cartoon Network and BOOM! Studios for the opportunity to keep these characters story going. I hope to do our queen proud and keep the spirit of Adventure Time™ alive undead.”

ADVENTURE TIME™: MARCY & SIMON #1 is Olson’s third writing contribution to the expanded literary world of the eponymous franchise, previously collaborating with her father Martin Olson (the voice of “Hunson Abadeer”) on The Adventure Time™ Encyclopedia. The two also co-authored Adventure Time™: The Enchiridion & Marcy’s Super Secret Scrapbook, written from a first person perspective through Marceline’s diary entries about when she and Simon first met. Both Adventure Time™ books, published in partnership between Abrams and Cartoon Network, are available now everywhere books are sold.

“Marceline’s history with the Ice King is honestly my favorite part of Adventure Time™, so I feel very lucky to get to work on a comic that explores their relationship in the present,” said artist Slimm Fabert. “Olivia’s script is excellent, and I’m very excited to see where the story goes from here.”

ADVENTURE TIME™: MARCY & SIMON #1 features a main cover by Brittney Williams (Goldie Vance), along with variant covers by Lisa Dubois (Rugrats), Sofie Drozdova (Regular Show) and Ashley Morales.

“There’s a lot of reasons to love the world of Adventure Time™, from the unforgettable adventures to the surprises around every corner, but it’s the characters who leave a permanent mark on every fan. Brand New Regular Show Comic Book Series Continues The Story After The End Of The Series

BOOM! Studios and Cartoon Network has announced that they’re releasing a new six-issue comic book series which will continue Regular Show’s story after its conclusion on U.S. television last year. The brand new comic book series will be called “Regular Show: 25 Years Later” and will be arriving in comic book retailers in the United States from June 2018. The story will continue from where the animated television show left off, after the epic battle of Pops vs Anti-Pops and just like the final scenes of the last episode, the story will take place 25 years later. At this point, a much older and mature Mordecai and Rigby have moved on from the park, they’ve pursued different career paths but remain very close friends, and they still meet up with their old co-workers at the park.

Christopher Hastings (Deadpool comics) will be writing the new original story and the comic book series will feature art by Anna Johnstone, with JK Phan illustrating the main cover, and with variant covers by Cole Closser (Adventure Time Comics) and Noelle Stevenson (Lumberjanes).

From The BOOM! Studios Press Release: The Regular Show Returns…25 Years Later

BOOM! Studios and Cartoon Network are proud to announce REGULAR SHOW: 25 YEARS LATER #1, the first chapter of an all-new six-issue limited comic book series inspired by the Emmy® Award-winning animated series arriving in stores June 2018. After the stunning conclusion to the landmark Regular Show on Cartoon Network in January 2017 featuring an epic battle between Pops and Anti-Pops, fans have been wondering what’s next for Mordecai, Rigby, and the rest of the park – and now BOOM! Studios has the answer! Journey 25 years into the future with acclaimed writer Christopher Hastings (Deadpool) and the debut of artist Anna Johnstone, as Mordecai and Rigby have a lot to learn about how things never stay the same…

REGULAR SHOW: 25 YEARS LATER #1 features a main cover by JK Phan, with variant covers by Cole Closser (Adventure Time Comics) and Noelle Stevenson (Lumberjanes).

“I love the relative elegance of a Regular Show story. Start with a mundane problem, try to weasel out of it, and then plunge into madness,” said writer Christopher Hastings. “The characters are completely grounded, have real relationships with each other, and then you take them and stick them in the most bonkers, surreal, fantasy/sci-fi/horror/everything impossible scenarios you can think of. It’s a simple combo, but it gives you room for a countless amount of new stories. The tricky part was figuring out how to get the older and MUCH more mature Mordecai and Rigby to jump into that dance again. They’ve traded their insane adventures for family and career. Seeing how these wiser old pals handle the temptations of adventure will be a big part of the fun of this series, not to mention just catching up with all the other characters, seeing what’s changed in their lives, or what’s stayed the same.”

“When I got asked to work on the new Regular Show comic series I was super excited to meet the challenge,” said artist Anna Johnstone. “The show has a great sense of humour and as a fan I can’t wait to see what kinds of weird stuff they get up to ’25 years later’… plus the best part, I get to draw it!”

REGULAR SHOW: 25 YEARS LATER is the latest release from BOOM! Studios’ critically acclaimed KaBOOM! imprint, publisher of world-class licensed series such as Steven Universe, Over the Garden Wall, Peanuts, and Garfield, along with original series like Brave Chef Brianna by Sam Sykes and Selina Espiritu, and The Deep by Tom Taylor and James Brouwer.

“We are excited about this chance to tell the next chapter of Regular Show in comic book form at BOOM! Studios,” said Whitney Leopard, Editor, BOOM! Studios. “REGULAR SHOW: 25 YEARS LATER is a must-read for any fan of the show, bringing all the humor, absurdity and irreverence that’s made it so beloved worldwide.”

Print copies of REGULAR SHOW: 25 YEARS LATER #1 will be available for sale in June 2018 at local comic book shops (use comicshoplocator.com to find the nearest one) or at the BOOM! Studios webstore. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including comiXology, iBooks, Google Play, and the BOOM! Studios app.
