Cartoon Network Central Eastern Europe (Romania) Widescreen Update

A quick update post regarding the implementation of 16:9 widescreen on Cartoon Network Central Eastern Europe in Romania, as of yesterday (15th October), all pay-tv providers (apart from Digi, who already made the switch) now carry a 16:9 widescreen version of Cartoon Network. The widescreen rollout in the region has been completed and all viewers should now be able to enjoy Cartoon Network’s cartoons such as OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes and The Amazing World of Gumball in its intended 16:9 format.

UPDATE: T-Mobile and freeSAT in the Czech Republic now carry the 16:9 version of CN CEE.

Today (11th October), the Hungarian sub-feed of Cartoon Network Central Eastern Europe finally made the transition to widescreen, making it the final feed in Europe to make the switch to 16:9, however in Romania, Cartoon Network CEE is still 4:3 on most pay-tv operators. In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Cartoon Network CEE is available in HD and is in 16:9 widescreen format.

Boomerang Central Eastern Europe Now In Widescreen From Today 4th April

Boomerang Central Eastern Europe has switched to 16:9 widescreen from today (4th April), the channel broadcasts to the vast majority of Eastern Europe including countries such as Poland, Hungary, Romania, Russia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia and also to the Netherlands and Belgium (Flanders Region) in Western Europe.

Boomerang is Cartoon Network’s sister channel that focuses on classic and contemporary animation aimed at families and young children. People in a large section of Europe are now able to enjoy Boomerang’s animated programming such as Be Cool, Scooby-Doo, The Tom and Jerry Show and New Looney Tunes in 16:9 formatted widescreen. However, Cartoon Network Central Eastern Europe in Hungary and Romania isn’t available in widescreen yet, but it’s available in widescreen and HD in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
