Cartoon Network UK Wishfart New Show Premieres Friday 8th June

On Friday 8th June, Cartoon Network UK will be premiering a brand new show – Wishfart. The new show will air as part of Cartoon Network UK’s New Fridays programming block, every Friday at 4pm. Wishfart follows the life of a teenager leprechaun called Dez who is learning to control and wield his wish-granted powers, his friends include a Japanese girl who’s also a ghost – Akiko and a talking puffin – called Puffin, together they go on unbelievably strange adventures including a battle against the King of the Underworld, saving the city from “gingerdead” people, ice cream monsters and rainbow storms. However wishes often get out of control and Dez and his friends have to fix the situation. There’s one vitally important lesson to learn from the new series – Be careful for what you wish for!

Wishfart is created by John Hazlett, Lienne Sawatsky and Dan Williams, the show is produced by the show’s very own company – Wishfart Productions and also the owner’s of Teletoon and Cartoon Network Canada – Corus and also Nelvana (also owned by Corus). Cartoon Network UK acquired the broadcasting rights to the new show in December last year in a 40 episode deal with the show’s distributor – Bejuba! Entertainment. Wishfart has also premiered on Cartoon Network Africa in January this year, as well as UK kids free-to-air channel – CITV last September.
