Cartoon Network Africa will be having a special Powerpuff Girls weekend, airing from 10.40am CAT on Saturday 28th January and 4.30pm CAT on Sunday 29th January on DStv channel 301. The two day stunt that’s filled with Sugar, Spice and everything nice will feature brand new episodes highlighting the special abilities of the three Powerpuff Girls – Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. The special weekend follows on from the launch of Cartoon Network’s Powfactor campaign which has gone global since its launch last year.

Cartoon Network updated the Powerpuff Yourself avatar maker last November to include a Powfactor personality quiz along with additional avatar customisation features. People who complete the Powfactor quiz can find out their “secret ingredient” which makes them heroic and unique. Since its launch last April, the Powerpuff Yourself avatar maker has been a success on social media with a total of over 12 million Powerpuff-style avatars created.

Cartoon Network is excited to announce that they are adding lots of sugar, spice and all things nice to DStv this weekend with a Powerpuff Girls weekend special. Following the global launch of the #POWFACTOR campaign at the end of 2016, which celebrates the “special ingredient” inside everyone, Cartoon Network will be jam-packed with a two-day special stunt starring our favourite little girls in special The Powerpuff Girl episodes. The all-new episodes will showcase their inner power and special abilities.

Turner Broadcasting System Europe and Turner Broadcasting System Latin America has signed a deal with London based WildBrain to help manage their children’s television show’s YouTube channels. WildBrain will be responsible for specific YouTube accounts for Cartoon Network’s animated shows including The Amazing World of Gumball and Adventure Time which are in the process of being localised, new channels have already rolled out for The Powerpuff Girls and Adventure Time in the UK, Russia, Poland and Latin America.

WildBrain is the digital management division of Canada’s DHX Media, the world’s leading independent kids’ content company. DHX Media has access to a video library of over 11,800 half-hours of kids’ and family content including Cartoon Network’s Supernoobs and Boomerang’s Inspector Gadget. Before the deal, WildBrain was already responsible for managing LazyTown’s YouTube channel, a kids entertainment property owned by Turner. Apart from online kids content management and connecting content owners to advertisers, WildBrain also produce their own original content including storybook reading videos, animated and live-action shortform content and toy unboxing videos.

WildBrain, a leading online kids’ network with expertise in connecting content owners to advertisers through advertising video-on-demand (AVOD) platforms, announces a deal with Turner International to manage a number of Turner Kids YouTube channels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Latin America. The agreement sees WildBrain extending the international exposure of key Turner brands. New local-language channels have already rolled out for The Powerpuff Girls and Adventure Time in the UK, Russia, Poland, Brazil and Spanish-speaking Latin America, with more languages following soon. The Amazing World of Gumball and Ben 10 will also be included, together with a selection of other Cartoon Network shows.

The deal comes following a successful collaboration between Turner EMEA and WildBrain around LazyTown, which saw a number of local channels launched over the last year.

The YouTube channel features video clips and songs from episodes of Fireman Sam, Bob the Builder, Masha and the Bear, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Little People, Molang, Loopdidoo, Baby Looney Tunes and Tiny Toon Adventures. The Cartoonito YouTube channel is updated regularly, so there is always something new for young children to watch.
