Cartoon Network USA San Diego Comic-Con 2017 Schedule

The internationally renowned San Diego Comic-Con will be mostly held at the San Diego Convention Center next week (Wednesday 19th July to Sunday 23rd July) and as with previous years, Cartoon Network will be hosting a series of panels featuring voice actors and show creators, autograph sessions and other special events. Thursday will mostly feature events for productions by Warner Bros. Animation that air on Cartoon Network, Friday is Cartoon Network’s main day at the convention with events for two productions by Cartoon Network Studios.

Starting off the Cartoon Network events at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, is a panel for Cartoon Network USA’s most popular show as of late – Teen Titans Go!, this will be a chance for fans to ask the show’s producers and voice actors their questions. Also at the panel, there will be an exclusive screening of an upcoming one-hour long Teen Titans Go! special!, could it be The Night Begins To Shine (aka The Day the Night Stopped Beginning to Shine and Became Dark Even Though It Was the Day) by any chance?

Following the Teen Titans Go! panel and screening, is a panel for a show that has yet to premiere on Cartoon Network called Unikitty!, which features the lovable (but at times, extremely angry) character from The Lego Movie. At the panel there will be a Q&A session and a special episode screening.

For those who prefer superheroes and action-animation, there will be a Justice League Action panel featuring a Q&A with the voice actors from the show and the with the show’s production team members, plus a screening of an all-new episode.

On Thursday evening at the convention, is the Cartoon Network Summertime Go! Screening and Costume Contest, an opportunity for Cartoon Network fans to see some exclusive premieres, also prizes are up for grabs those who take part in the Cartoon Network cartoon character costume contest. Kids aged 12 and under wearing a costume will receive a special prize. Guest judges include Ian Jones-Quartey (creator and voice of Rad for OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes), Greg Cipes (voice of Stinkfly in Ben 10 and voice of Beast Boy in Teen Titans Go!), Zach Callison (voice of Steven in Steven Universe), Deedee Magno-Hall (voice of Pearl in Steven Universe), and Michaela Dietz (voice of Amethyst in Steven Universe) and the talented voice actor who connects all four shows together – Eric Bauza!

Kicking off Friday at 10am on the convention is the OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes panel, fans will get to see exclusive content and experience the superpowered and action-packed world of Lakewood Plaza Turbo. Ian-Jones Quartey, the show’s creator and voice of Rad, Toby Jones (the show’s co-executive producer), Courtenay Taylor (voice of K.O.), Kate Flannery (voice of Carol), and Dan Vader (lead writer/designer, for the brand new OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes game at Capybara Games) will all be there. The panel will be moderated by Alanah Pearce from IGN.

Immediately after the OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes panel is the Steven Universe panel, which will include never-before-seen footage, exciting announcement and a Q&A for fans to ask questions about Cartoon Network’s cult hit. The panel will feature the show’s creator – Rebecca Sugar, Deedee Magno-Hall (the voice of Pearl), Michaela Dietz (voice of Amethyst), Estelle (voice of Garnet), and A.J. Michalka (voice of Stevonnie) with half-Gem/half-human Steven Universe Zach Callison as half-guest/half-moderator!

Last but not least on Saturday, there’s a panel for Cartoon Network’s newly revived show – Ben 10, panelists include Greg Cipes (voice of Stinkfly), John DiMaggio (voice of Four Arms), Montse Hernandez (voice of Gwen), Roger Craig Smith (voice of Diamondhead), Tara Strong (voice of Ben Tennyson), John Fang (executive producer), Joe Casey (writer/creator, Man of Action Entertainment), and moderator Eric Bauza. There will be games and giveaways too, it will be so incredible that it will be out of this world!

While she may be full of boundless energy and creativity, Unikitty is a force to be reckoned with if anyone gets in the way of spreading her positive vibes, especially if anyone makes her little brother and best friend, Puppycorn, sad. Last weekend (25/05/2017 – 28/05/2017), was the Momocon 2017 Animation, Video Games and Comics convention in Cartoon Network’s hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, USA. At the convention, there was a Steven Universe panel featuring the voice talent behind the main characters in Steven Universe, including Zach Callison (Steven), Michaela Dietz (Amethyst), Jennifer Paz (Lapis Lazuli), Shelby Rabara (Peridot), Deedee Magno Hall (Pearl) and Grace Rolek (Connie). The special event was an opportunity for Steven Universe fans to ask questions about the show and about the voice performers’ experiences while working on the show.

Lots of enthusiastic Steven Universe fans at the convention even cosplayed as their favourite characters from the show. Popular YouTube channel – The Roundtable, who often produce plot theory videos about Steven Universe had their very own panel at the convention, the panel was led by Roundtable member – Kevin Williams (aka AwestruckVox).

At the convention, there was also another Steven Universe panel called “Pearl’s Secret Panel Career”, featuring Deedee Magno Hall, Zach Callison and Cartoon Network USA’s Director of Social Media – Duane Munn, the panel was hosted by Cartoon Network Games QA Tester and Cartoon Network social media freelancer – McKenzie Atwood. The panel’s topic was about memes (specifically Steven Universe and Cartoon Network related memes) and their use on social media.

Steven Universe Soundtrack Volume 1 Now Available For Preorder

Yesterday (18/05/2017), Cartoon Network USA announced on their Twitter account and Facebook page that Steven Universe Soundtrack Volume 1 will be released worldwide on Friday 2nd June and is now available for preorder. The show’s composers – Aivi & Surasshu revealed the full soundtrack list in a Facebook Live session yesterday on Cartoon Network USA’s Facebook page. The soundtrack will be available to purchase from all major online music stores (including iTunes) and major online music streaming services.

The album features a collection of songs picked by Rebecca Sugar, the show’s creator, with songs written by the Crewniverse (the nickname for Steven Universe’s production team) and composed and remastered by the music duo – Aivi & Surasshu. Just like the show, the songs on the album are performed by the show’s voice acting cast, Zach Callison (Steven), Estelle (Garnet), Deedee Magno Hall (Pearl), Michaela Dietz (Amethyst) and Tom Scharpling (Greg) as well as performances by special guests and by Rebecca Sugar herself.
